When Mickey Rooney, Peter Sellers and Bob Hope all appear onscreen in the first 5 minutes of a 2011 Disney family film, you know that the next 2 hours are going to be fantastic. This return to form for Kermit, Piggy, Fozzy and the gang sees Gary (Jason Segal) and his muppet brother Walter travel to Los Angeles to visit the run-down muppet theatre. When they get there, expecting to be visiting a theme park, they find Alan Arkin coughing and spluttering his way through a tour of the dusty building. Walter sneaks into a room by himself and hears Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) plotting his plan to knock down the theatre and extract oil from underneath. Gary and Walter must bring the old gang back together again to put on a show and raise the funds to buy back the theatre. The film features amazing songs, the highlight for me being 'Life's A Happy Song', although 'Man or Muppet' received the Oscar nod, and cameos from Dave Grohl, Sarah Silverman, Jack Black, Selena Gomez, Whoopi Goldberg and 'that Columbian kid from Modern Family' who gets to say possibly the funniest line in the film: "Are you one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?" Go see it! Please!
