10- The Smurfs
This animation-live action crossover was a much better film than its box office rivals Super 8 and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and was possibly NPH's second best film of the year (we have yet to see HAK3)
9- Source Code
Jake Gyllenhall carries this wonderful sci-fi by Duncan "Moon" Jones (David Bowie Jr.) by running around a train shouting and flirting with Vera Farmiga in his half-dead brain!
8- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Snobby critics can say what they wish, but Rob Marshall really put this rotting series back on form! Penelope Cruz shines and Orblando and Keira are not missed!
7- Thor/Captain America: The First Avenger
Two films which end with previews for next summer's 'The Avengers' supergroup movie, both of which are decent, but Captain America is the better of the duo. Hugo Weaving is magnificent as Red Skull, a Hitler-type with a (you guessed it) RED SKULL!!!
6- MI: Ghost Protocol
5- The Help
A truly beautiful film that shows racism in the 60s as it really was and will make you weep with sadness and joy.
4- Hugo
Released near the end of the year, this is perfect for Oscars, but with our #1 film most likely getting the token 'family' spot at the Awards show, this will have to do what it can with its 'National Board of Review' award.
3- In Time
Justin Timberlake shows he can act, Amanda Seyfried shows she can wear a cool hairstyle and Cillian Murphy continues to show that he is f**king amazing!!!!
2- Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules
Who thought they could top the original? The director did, and that's why this heartfelt, hilarious family comedy beats Just Go With It to our token 'comedy' #2 slot! Tip for Adam Sandler- make a kids film WITH kids as the main characters!
AND THE NUMBER ONE MOTION PICTURE OF THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND AND ELEVEN IS.........
